What is certificate ?
Film ratings, also known as film certificates,indicate the suitability of a film for different age groups.
Who gives film certificates ?
It gives CENTRAL BOARD OF FILM CERTIFICATION (CBFC) केन्द्रीय फ़िल्म प्रमाणन बोर्ड.
CBFC (Central Board of FilmCertification) issues the film certificates in India. It operates under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
CBFC is also known as the Censor Board of India because, before certifying a film, the board is known.to censor (modify or delete) inappropriate scenes out of it.
Types OF Film Certificates
U (Universal)
Films with U certificate aresuitable for all age groups.Such movies are usuallyfamily-friendly.

UA (Unrestricted with Parental Guidance)
Children can watch these films, but parental guidance is advised.

UA 7+:
Content is suitable for children aged seven and above,but with parental guidance.
A (Adults)
Only Adults, 18 years or older, can watch the film with this certificate.

S(Special)
These films are intended for a specific group of professionals, such as doctors or scientists. These movies aren’t usually listed publicly.
CBFC has recently introduced sub categories under the UA certificate to provide clearer age guidance.
UA 13+: Content is suitable for children aged thirteen and above, but with parental guidance.
UA 16+: Content is suitable for children aged sixteen and above, but with parental guidance.
